Working in the community with children from a young age Cassandra Rowden contributes art classes to the non-profit group “ Children’s Day”. A Day that celebrates children’s growth in the community. Rewarded and attributed to the Green Prize Festival with Squeeze Art Collective. The Green Prize Festival promotes a city that is more environmentally friendly and teaches children the importance of sustainability. Volunteered art therapy at Long Beach Rescue Mission Lydia House, Orangewood Foundation Community Youth services, and Memorial Hospital. Today she is working with homeschool students, a behavioral interventionist with California Behavioral Treatment Center and a staff member at Agape Children’s Museum.
Cassandra is a vendor with Sky Mountain, Compass and Inspire Charter Schools. Homeschooled for the latter of her high school curriculum she can relate to most of her students. Lesson plans include one on one learning to flourish the growth of the student. Noticing that group art classes can inhibit learning by brushing over key art fundamentals she takes pride in the concept to see every object as a break down of basic shapes. After completing the fundamental areas in which the student may need more time with, the student will create a piece, comic book or graphic novel…
She works with children with different learning abilities and knows the keys for learning. Some quick examples of this are visual notes, rock music for adhd reading comprehension, worksheets created for coordination of motor skills and knowledge of dysgraphia assistive technology tools. Bridging the gap between the imagination and the final product.
She knows social media has a big role in development of a professional artist and can correlate ideas for your child’s art audience. Depending on your child’s age she will show the discovery of online groups related to your child’s art field of choice to cultivate a supportive social group of peers and paths to take in your child’s future art occupation.
